Directions

Using the bibliography provided on this website and your own research, do the following:

  1. Find at least ten peer-reviewed research studies on a topic within the broad field of social media.
  2. Read the articles carefully.
  3. Write a two-paragraph informative annotation for each article, using APA format (see sidebar for help).
  4. Compile the annotations into a formal report with both formatting and a writing level suitable for graduate-level work.

If you question whether or not an article is peer reviewed, send me the link or the article for advice.

Use this general formula as a basis for your annotation:

  1. Describe the purpose of the report and/or the author's intent and hypothesis.
  2. Then, describe the nature of the study along with its subject and methodology.
  3. Describe the results and implications.
  4. Finally, summarize the study and comment on its usefulness to the field of social media, organizations who use social media, our class, and your organization's use of social media.
