The annotation is at least one full paragraph (4-5 sentences), preferably two paragraphs, summarizes key points made in the article, and is written based on the following four guidelines:

  1. Describe the purpose of the report and/or the author's intent and hypothesis.
  2. Then, describe the nature of the study along with its subject and methodology.
  3. Describe the results and implications.
  4. Finally, summarize the study and comment on its usefulness to the field of social media, organizations who use social media, our class, and your organization's use of social media.

Each annotation relates how the seven building blocks of social media are addressed (or not addressed) in the article.

10 Format Annotations are listed alphabetical order by author based on APA style. Expected word processing guidelines are followed.
10 Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation The paper meets graduate-level expectations for writing and adheres to grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules. Note: if the paper deviates significantly from writing expecations, more points may be deducted. For ten annotations of 1-2 paragraphs each, the annotated bibliography document should be roughly five pages or less.
