By the end of week five, you should be able to:
Diana -- please write and post an article on our Wordpress blog by Monday evening at 8pm. You may write on any topic related to social media. Email me if you need technical assistance.
Everyone can post articles at any time as well, just as Lisa did this week. The blog is meant to be a collective and ongoing conversation, so please participate as much as possible.
This week we'll begin with our guest speaker, Josh Martin. Josh will talk with us about his job as a social media manager. Please read sources 1-5 below. For sources #2 and #3, browse through a few social media jobs to see what typical duties are like. Use the other sources for background regarding jobs in social media.
Based on sources 1-5, please be prepared with at least two questions for Josh. He'll begin with a short introduction of his work, and then he'll answer your questions. Ask questions that might help you to understand both what the social media managers for your organization do and what you might be able to do yourself in your current or future jobs.
Please read the following article in Dropbox in the Week 5 reading folder. In particular, examine the article's dicussion of social interaction in public, inner and outer space (not what you think), metaspace, and the three functions of interactions they discuss -- connecting, cataloguing, and coordinating. After our discussion with Josh, we'll discuss the concepts in this article.
