Define
Define
To define means to identify and define a problem, and then choose the
format to use to help communicate the solution. In a media environment,
designers decide whether the format will be print, television, radio,
multimedia, a website, or some combination.

Ideate
Ideation is the formation of creative ideas -- brainstorming in the
form of trying to produce specific ideas relevant to the design problem
and the desired solution. To ideate is to generate possible solutions
for a visual problem.
Implement
Implement
To implement simply means to put the solution into place, whether that
means publishing multimedia or print, or setting a process into motion.
Implementing is sometimes preceded by rapid prototyping, in which an
early but workable draft of the final project is tested with a pilot
audience and the resulting feedback used to complete the final product.
Select
To select is to choose a solution and a format, along with a design
plan. Selection is where the designer aligns the elements of design
with the chosen production format.
Analyze
Gathering information
and finding facts about the problem, the audience, the desired solution.
Information may be found throughout the design process, so designers
often backtrack to fill in the gaps.
Evaluate
Evaluation is the process of defining and redefining the goals of the
design project; this is where you discover if your design solution works
within the context and audience it is intended for. Evaluation can occur
at any step in the design process.
