Design Brief
The Design
Brief should be a one-page overview of your design project
plans, providing enough information for your peers and your
instructor to visualize your final topic. It should include
the following elements:
Topical
Description -- 2-3 sentences explaining and describing
your topic.
Purpose
-- 2-3 sentences explaining what your product should accomplish
with your users, and what you intend to occur; is it informational,
training, exposure-oriented, marketing, etc.
Metaphor
-- 2-3 sentences explaining the metaphor you will use as a
basis for conveying your content (if you choose to use one.)
For example, a common metaphor for e-commerce is that of a
graphical shopping mall where users click on images of storefronts
to enter and shop.
Target
Audience -- 1-2 sentence description of the demographics
of your primary audience.
Abbreviated
Sequence Flowchart -- a Visio flowchart of the sequence
of your product, divided into stages, if necessary.
Media
Description -- 4-5 sentences explaining what media you
will use and how.
Work
Schedule -- a GANNT chart showing the weeks left until
the product is due and what tasks you will do when, also showing
milestones.
