Assignment One: Interview with a Multimedia Professional

Part A - due by September 16
Working alone, develop a set of interview questions for a interview with a multimedia developer. Your interviewee can work in one of several roles, such as developer, designer, graphic artist, programmer, project manager, or another title that indicates a multimedia job. Develop a set of ten questions and then email them to me for approval, along with the name and position of the person you plan to interview. Your questions can follow this agenda (but feel free to add your own questions):

  1. What is the name of a recent multimedia project your organization produced?
  2. What kind of product was created, and to whom was it given?
  3. What authoring tools were used?
  4. Who made up the development team for the project?
  5. How long did the project take to complete?
  6. What problems were encountered?
  7. What kind of testing was done?
  8. How did the intended user(s) react to the product?

Part B -- due by September 23 for peer review
Working alone, contact your designated person by email, phone, or an in person visit and conduct the interview. Summarize the answers to your questions in a 2-3 page briefing that reports on the interview. Include in your briefing questions that arose spontaneously during the interview and comments or questions from the interviewee that may have also arisen, leading you in a direction you did not expect.

As part of your briefing, develop a graphical workflow process that represents the one in which your interviewee works. Build this as a flowchart, organizational chart, or some graphical depiction that correctly represents the workflow that your interviewee works within.
