Find an article about Toyota's defective brakes or accelerators from each of the following sources (1-government  2-automobile manufacturer 3-newspaper, magazine or TV 4-consumer "watchdog" or legal agency.  Write a one-page summary/critique of one of the articles.  Bring printouts of all the articles to class.

Furniture Case Study Data Analysis Homework 1

Use the Montgomery and Macon sales data set to develop and conduct hypothesis tests in Excel to answer the following three questions. Note that you will need to reformat the data to conduct some of the tests.

1) Do the January and February sales data differ significantly at the Montgomery plant?

2) Are sales at the Macon plant significantly greater than sales at the Montgomery plant, on average?

3) Consider sales at the Macon plant for May, June, July and August. Is there a significant difference based on month?

Complete the hypothesis test template for the above three questions.

Finally, in your opinion, are there any outliers in the Macon plant data? Justify your answer.

Bring printouts including Excel output to class on Tuesday Feb 16.

Furniture Case Study Data Analysis Homework 3

Use the Montgomery and Macon sales data set to conduct hypothesis tests in Excel AND in Minitab to answer the following questions.

Is there a significant difference based on month (January, March, or June)?

Is there a significant difference based on location (Macon or Montgomery)?

Is there a significant interaction effect between month and location?

Note that you will need to reformat the data to conduct the tests.
