Multimedia
Case Studies
Case studies require examination of a multimedia product via
a one-page analysis of its characteristics, features, and
adherences to interactive design principles. Also, a short
oral presentation to the class is required. This is not a
formal presentation.
Your
assignment is to locate a multimedia product either on the
web or on CD-ROM and to present it to the class, taking great
care to explain the design behind it and specific features
that distinguish it from other multimedia presentations. Be
able to explain the metaphor used (if there is one) and the
general sequence (is it linear, random, under complete user
control, etc). Be able to explain the intended purpose, objectives,
target audience, and domain, and media used. For case one,
the purpose of the multimedia you study must be focused on
technical or training objectives. For case two, the purpose
must be focused on marketing, sales, or business objectives.
