Technical Communication -- Why It's Important for You

If you take this class, you will NEVER do something like this:

Nope. You'll become such a good communicator, in addition to your other studies, that one day Time will do this for you:

Technical Communication will make you more effective. You will write more clearly. You will speak to others with ease and poise. You will write instructions and proposals that will help others and build businesses. And, you will learn ways to persuade and motivate others. You -- no matter what your major, you will become a technical communicator.

Here's the Somewhat Dry Catalog Description of our class:

Prerequisites: TCO 141 or equivalent; completed minimum 45 credit hours.
Introduction to forms and processes of technical communication, including letters and memos, reports, instructions, and proposals.Includes oral presentations, reviews, and collaborative efforts. Emphasis is on determining audience and purpose, especially within organizational contexts, and on designing effective documents. Introduction to resume and data gathering.

You will learn to communicate effectively in both written and oral projects -- making you a much better future employee!
