Exercise 1 Hypothesis Testing Using Excel  emailed to listserv April 7, 2008 6pm
Exercise 2 Analyze Excel paired sample t-test output.   Exercise conducted in class  before quiz

Exercise 3

Minitab ANOVA Exercise

Use Minitab 14 to analyze the data shown in Table 13.1 (page 512 of your text.). Copy the results to a Word file.  Add hypotheses, graphics, decisions, and conclusions. Save the file as yourlastnameExercise3. E-mail the file to Dr. Burtner.   April 16, 2007

Exercise 4

TWO-FACTOR ANOVA Minitab Exercise

Complete the analysis of the AGV problem shown in the How to Generate a Two-Way ANOVA Table in Minitab 14 Handout.

Include hypotheses, graphics, decisions, and conclusions.  Print the exercise and turn it in at the beginning of class on Wednesday.

Exercise 5

TWO-FACTOR ANOVA Excel Exercise

Enter the AGV data into Excel and conduct a two-factor with replication experimental analysis. Include hypotheses, graphics, decisions, and conclusions.  Print the exercise and turn it in by noon on Thursday.

  April 17, 2007 noon

Exercise 6

TWO-FACTOR

Your choice of software

Use Excel or Minitab to analyze the experimental data in Problem 14.9 on page 589 of your text. Append the computer output with hypotheses, graphics, decisions, and conclusions. Answer questions a) b) and d). Print the exercise and turn it in by 5pm on Friday.   April 18, 2007   5pm
TEST 2       April 21, 2008
Exercise 7 LINEAR REGRESSION using Excel and Minitab

Enter the data from Problem 11.44 into Excel.

1)Draw a scatter plot of the data.

2)Develop a linear regression equation for the data.

3)State the equation using terms such as pitch carbon analysis and soak time.

4)Conduct a hypothesis test to determine if the regression is significant. Be sure to include hypotheses, decisions, conclusions and graphics.

5)Interpret the Rsquared value.

Enter the data into Minitab and conduct a simple linear regression.  Compare the ANOVA to the Excel version. (You do not need to amend the Minitab output with hypotheses, etc.)
