Greg A. Baugher, MST, Binghamton University
Instructor of Mathematics Having
graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, I wanted to help
students learn and appreciate mathematics. While teaching in two
private schools in the Northeast for sixteen years, I earned a
Master of Science Degree in Mathematics, and was soon recruited to
teach in a college in Chattanooga, TN. From there I moved to the
Atlanta area and began teaching at Mercer University's College of
Continuing and Professional Studies.
As a result of
this academic and experiential background in teaching secondary
mathematics, I feel that I am well-prepared to help adult learners
refresh their learning of basic and applied Algebra, as well as to
enable them to appreciate and comprehend more deeply the topics we
study.
As far as my personal life, I live in Douglasville,
GA, with my wife Shirley (whom I first met in Calculus class in 1981) and her
children. I also have four wonderful children from a previous marriage that I contact and see as often as I can.
My personal interests are hiking
and backpacking, canoeing, camping, woodworking, strategy games, and
reading. I have hiked about 35% of the Appalachian Trail as well
as other less-known trails in Tennesee, Alabama, and Georgia. |
