Profile:
Ph.D., University of Alabama, 1998 B.B.A., M.B.A., Georgia College and State University, 1987, 1990 Dr. Tammy N. Crutchfield is Director of Undergraduate Studies and an Associate Professor of Marketing at the Stetson School of Business and Economics in Macon. Dr. Crutchfield believes that the best way to build a marketing student’s confidence in his or her knowledge of the field is to push for excellence in a hands-on learning environment and drive home learning with a challenging real-world project. In both the professional sales and the marketing research and management courses, the philosophy is practiced. Mercer University recognized this achievement in classroom instruction by awarding Dr. Crutchfield and another marketing colleague, Dr. Vicki Eveland, the Vulcan Innovations in Teaching Award in 2005 for their efforts to partner with each other, the business community and students through a year-long marketing research and strategy course which culminated in the implementation of a marketing plan and event for a business client. Before pursuing her Ph. D., Dr. Crutchfield worked in industry for seven years in the fields of production management, distribution, and financial management. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Alabama. She consults with professional service and not-for-profit firms in the areas of marketing research and strategy. She has published in numerous journals including the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Service Research, the Journal of Advertising Research, the Journal of the Academy of Business Education, Services Marketing Quarterly, Health Marketing Quarterly, and the Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing. Apart from work, she finds much joy finding good places to eat out and spending time with her family and friends.
