About NESA and the Virtual Science Fair

In a dynamic region of cultural, historical and geopolitical significance, collaboration and the spirit of collegiality among schools is something that NESA is proud of and upon which member schools build. The Virtual Science Fair enables middle school students who excel in their local science fair to "compete virtually" with exemplary students from other NESA schools, thereby overcoming the obstacles of meeting face-to-face.

The Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NESA) is a non-profit, voluntary association of more than 75 international schools in the Near East and South Asia, a region stretching from Greece and Egypt in the west, to Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in the east. Visit NESA's website.

Member schools follow a US-style curriculum and typically serve students of more than three dozen nationalities. What unites NESA members is a commitment to offering students a high quality education following a North American model and promoting professional and personal connections between educators.

Currently, NESA includes 40 Regular Members (American/overseas schools), 62 Associate Members (international schools; colleges and universities; special institutions), and 34 Supporting Members (textbook publishers, consultants, school suppliers and other businesses). NESA encompasses over 24,000 students and over 6,400 professional educators.
