Dr. Mitchell has worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner for more than 30 years. She has extensive experience in working with the neurodevelopmental outcomes of high-risk infants.
She is a member of the World health Organization (WHO) collaborative team and has traveled with WHO to Uganda as part of a consulting team evaluating maternal and infant mortality and morbidity. She continues to serve as a consultant on various WHO maternal and infant care projects.
Dr. Mitchell has a strong interest in international child health. She has traveled to several countries as a Christian health care ambassador to provide health care to impoverished children in countries such as Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Mexico and Moldova.
