History Questions Discussions Guide
This course will teach you to design and create instructional materials.
This week, we'll:
- Explore the history of instructional design
Examine key models of instructional design
Read Chapter 1 of the Dick and Carey textbook
Answer the discussion question below
Our goal this week is to familiarize ourselves with the Dick and Carey model. Then, we will explore other instructional design models. All models are basically some variation the generic model of analysis-design-develop-implement-evaluate (ADDIE). What sets the models apart are the theories on which they are based. Next week we will examine these learning theories. As a minimum, you should look at the Morrison, Kemp, Ross model, the Smith and Ragan model, and the ADDIE model.
