This week we will learn how to write a three-part communication purpose statement, which comes in handy when you are writing technical documents of all kinds. This is a simple yet foundational aspect of TCO 341.
For the capstone project, the Proposal, we will partner with the Mercer Engineering Research Center, (MERC), to generate ideas and plans for the proposal project. Along with MERC, we will be using the Kickstarter.com website as a venue for making our proposal.
Refer to the recorded webex discussion for information about both the communication purpose statement and the MERC proposal process.
Documents we will use in our Week 2 discussion in Webex:

Summer 2012 Request for Proposal
On June 4, our Webex discussion will partly be a conversation with MERC representatives about how to begin the Kickstarter process. You can check the Forms page for a preview of what a Kickstarter proposal document looks like.
Proposal teams will be as follows:
Team 1: Kevin, James, Mike
Team 2: Andrea, Wilson, Brad
Team 3: Emily, Kyanne, Brennen
Team 4: Jacob, Rachel, Rooshi, Dillon
Each team needs to begin coordinating with each other to plan and write the letter of intent, due June 3. You do not have to have a specific idea for your Kickstarter project to write the letter of intent -- this is just a document stating that you will complete the proposal project as assigned.
Due Sunday, June 3 -- (1) completed proposal statements
