TCO 285 Flyer Assignment

Instructions: Pick a partner to work with to design a flyer for a client. You have one week to brainstorm ideas, create first drafts, fine-tune and print the final copy. On Thursday, Sept 4, you will post your team's design on the wall for class peer reviews.

Client: The Human Society of the United States. Every March, the city of Opp, Alabama hosts a Rattlesnake Rodeo. Tens of thousands of people attend to see these rattlesnake reptiles rounded up, with proceeds going to various charities. Your client believes the Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo is harmful to these animals and wants to stop the rodeo. You may read more about the Humane Society's position at http://www.hsus.org/ace/18431.

Audience: Those residents of Opp and potential Rodeo attendees who might be persuaded to boycott the Rodeo.

Purpose: To motivate individuals to boycott the Rodeo and actively protest it. Your flyer should convey enough information about the harmful effects on the rattlesnakes to motivate or persuade community member to agree with your client's position.

Constraints: Use color as you'd like but use 8.5 X 11 inch paper. You may print on colored paper (single colored sheets may be purchased at If It's Paper on 2nd street, or at office supply stores like Office Depot at Pio Nono and Eisenhower).

Peer Reviews: On Thursday, September 2, immediately upon coming to class you will post your design for peer reviews by the whole class.

Final Flyers are due September 9. This is the only version that will be graded.

Flyers will be graded using the Flyer Grading Rubric.
