Candace W. Barnett, Ph.D. Biographical Sketch

 

     Dr. Barnett earner her B.S.  in Pharmacy from Purdue University.  She attended graduate school at the University of Florida where she received her Ph.D. in Pharmacy Health Care Administration.  In 1984 she joined the faculty of Mercer University, Southern School of Pharmacy where she currently serves as Director of Pharmacy Administration.  Dr. Barnett also serves as Director of the School's combined Pharm.D./M.B.A. program and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.  Dr. Barnett teaches courses in communication skills and human resources management.  She has over 40 publications in scholarly and professional journals and is the author of chapters in two books titled Marketing Pharmaceutical Services and Personnel Relations.  Dr. Barnett has made over 40 presentations at the national, state, and local levels on topics related to communication skills and human resource issues.  She has served on the USP Advisory Committee on Patient Counseling and on the Dupont Pharma MBA Advisory Committee.  Dr.  Barnett is 1990 recipient of a Searle Fellowship in Pharmacy faculty mentor award.  In 1999 she received the Mercer Southern School of Pharmacy Distinguished Educator Award.
